Reception runs through a short set of questions to work out how urgent it is. If you need to be seen today we will find you a slot. If it can safely wait, we will tell you that too rather than book you in for the sake of it.
What we treat as urgent
- Knocked-out adult tooth — within 30 minutes
- Facial swelling — same day, urgent
- Bleeding that will not stop — call immediately
- Abscess or discharge — same day, urgent
- Severe or throbbing toothache — same day
- Broken or chipped tooth — same day if painful
- Lost filling or crown — one to two days
What happens in the chair
The first visit is about getting you comfortable. Diagnosis, an X-ray if we need one, and immediate relief. We do not start long treatment on someone who is in pain.
After hours
We are open Saturday mornings from 9am. Swelling that is spreading toward your eye, or making it hard to swallow or breathe, is a medical emergency — go to the nearest hospital emergency department or call 000.
